Interior Paint Project
Pro Color Painting has found through experience that a systematic approach to interior painting
helps us to deliver a quality interior paint  job. Below are the general steps we will take on your interior painting project. Your situation may vary depending upon your needs as outlined on your Proposal.

Set-up - Items are placed in the center of the room and covered with clean, new plastic sheeting.
All floors are protected with drop cloths.

Prepare - Based on your requests, holes and cracks in ceilings and walls are filled;
stains are sealed
and surfaces are scuff sanded.

Paint - Repaired areas are primed and premium quality paint is applied to a uniform finish.

Clean - Furniture and accessories are moved back to their desired locations. Floors and carpets
are vacuumed and swept. All of our tool / materials are removed.

Inspect - After our own inspection, you are invited to inspect our work and asked to complete the
feedback card for the crew. Touch-up paint is always left on site and dated for future projects.

Can't Decide on Colors?
Pro Color Painting
helps you pick which paint color & sheen that will best fit your interior painting needs. A professional painting color chart on site will ensure the perfect color choice for your interior painting project.

Sheens - Paint "sheens", or degrees of the paint's glossiness.
Traditionally, paints with a higher sheen are more durable & easier to clean than those with a lower sheen. However, a higher sheen can show more imperfections on your interior surfaces than a paint with a lower sheen.
The range of paint sheens is as follows: flat paint (no sheen), eggshell paint (light sheen), satin paint (medium sheen),
semi gloss paint (glossy sheen), gloss paint (high sheen). This can vary with different paint manufactures.
Custom Painting Effects
Faux painting is the application of paint to imitate the look of a different surface. Usually it mimics stone, such as marble, aged limestone, or slate. It can also be made to look like clouds, wood, animal skin, or metals. Most faux painting is achieved by positive and negative paint application. Positive application refers to adding paint to a surface. Negative application means removing paint. Layering paints with tools other than brushes, such as rags, leather, mitts, and feathers, will achieve various looks.

Glazing is a popular application used most often on a thick texture. Glaze is a clear product that can be tinted with any color, then rubbed over a textured and painted wall. It produces a translucent topcoat through which the base color can be seen. Have the interior painter test the mixed glaze on a small area. Depending on the paint colors and texture, the depth created by glazing can mimic stone.

Color Washing is the ragged-on application of a light topcoat over a base color done in house interior painting. By brushing on the topcoat while the basecoat is wet, an airy look is produced. A white wash over a pastel basecoat achieves a soft, watercolor appearance.

Crackling is a interior house painting technique that makes a surface appear aged. A base coat of paint is applied, then a contrasting topcoat. Crackling material, is then brushed on as a final coat, breaking the topcoat into "cracks". The basecoat shows through the cracks. Popular on columns and furniture, crackling is used with a Renaissance or Americana decor. Great custom painting effect for cabinets.

Trompe L'Oeil is French for "trick the eye".
Trompe l'oeil murals are paintings, usually on a wall, (or ceiling, floor etc.), that when viewed from the right position, should deceive the viewer into thinking it is real. The main concern in these paintings is to create an illusion of a three dimensional space. Generally these are commissioned and are especially designed for a particular situation and are not movable, but they can also be painted on stretched canvas or panel and hung the same way as a conventional painting. The benefits of trompe l'oeil murals are that they can create an illusion of a space that could not normally exist, would not be affordable to create or would defy the laws of nature.

Textures -  Texture adds warmth, character, and depth to an interior. Texture is mud applied to a bare wall to make it bumpy or "textured". Orange Peel looks like the inside of an orange peel. Splatter Drag is Orange Peel texture dragged with a trowel. Crow's Foot texture is achieved by pressing a brush into wet texture to achieve a vein-like look. The popular Mediterranean texture is splattered in thick clumps and can be dragged to create different effects. Mexican texture can be made to look like stucco by adding sand to the mud. Skip Trowel is texture spread on thick with a trowel. A varying look can be achieved with different trowel widths. Acoustic texture or (popcorn) is the foam ball texture.
